Countries abroad - including favourites Spain, Portugal and Turkey - still have strict rules in place for UK travellers. Those with half-term October holidays booked will need to take note of entry requirements into their chosen destination after restrictions constantly change.
Last week, the UK's traffic light system was scrapped and the amber list was removed, leaving a simple 'red list' and 'all other countries'. The red list has been slimmed down to just seven countries, but that doesn't mean every holiday hotspot is clear for travel. Countries abroad - including favourites SpainPortugal and Turkey - still have strict rules in place for UK travellers entering to stop the spread of coronavirus.
Most destinations need travellers to have at least one dose of the vaccine, while others have self-isolation rules in place on arrival. Test requirements, entry restrictions and travel documents are just some of the things holidaymakers need to remember before jetting away on a sun-soaked break. It's important to remember that these rules change all the time, so it's important to keep on top of everything before your flight and return home.
Vaccine - Travellers who present a valid certificate for both doses of an approved vaccine are exempt from pre-departure testing requirements. Self-isolation - Travellers are not required to self-isolate on arrival in Turkey from the UK. Other local restrictions might apply, please check before you travel.
Tests - Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the 72 hours, must be provided on departure. A negative rapid antigen test can be provided taken within 48 hours of departure. People who have recovered from Covid are exempt and may provide proof of a positive antigen or PCR test, taken at least 14 days but not more than six months before departure. Vaccine - UK travellers who present a valid international certificate for both jabs from an approved vaccine are exempt from testing requirements. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure.

Tests - Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the 72 hours, must be provided on arrival. Proof of a negative rapid antigen test can also be presented, taken with the 48 hours. Those who have recently recovered from Covid are exempt from testing requirements. They can show proof of a positive PCR test, taken at least 30 days before arrival but not more than days. Travellers may also provide a certificate of recovery from the virus issued by a public authority or a certified laboratory. Documents - A completed 'passenger locator form' must be submitted within 24 hours of departure.
The QR code generated by this form must be presented on arrival. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure and within one year. Exceptions and other rules may apply and travellers are urged to check with the official government website. Tests - Proof of a negative nucleic acid amplification NAAT test, taken within the 72 hours, must be provided on departure.

Exemptions also apply to those who have received a vaccine booster after a two-dose vaccine, if administered at least seven days before departure.
Those who have recovered from Covid and received the first dose of a two-dose vaccine are also exempt if administered at least seven days before departure. Self-isolation - Travellers are required to self-isolate for 7 days on arrival at their own residence or accommodation. Those who have recently recovered from Covid are exempt from pre-departure testing and can provide proof of test, taken at least 11 days - and not more than days - on departure.
Documents - A completed 'statement' form must be completed before departure by all travellers. Essential travellers must also complete a 'travel certificate' justifying pressing grounds to travel. Vaccine - Travellers who present a valid certificate for full vaccination against COVID, are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before but not more than days before departure. Self-isolation -Those without documentation will be tested on arrival and are required to self-isolate until a negative test result is confirmed or undergo a day self-isolation.
Tests - Proof of a negative PCR test taken within the 72 hours must be provided on departure. Alternatively, travellers may present a recovery certificate from a physician or a positive PCR or antigen test confirming COVID infection, taken within 11 and days prior to travel.
Travellers transiting or those traveling for essential reasons who are staying in Croatia for less than 12 hours do not need to present a negative test result nor be subject to self-isolation. Documents - Travellers are advised to fill and complete the 'travel announcement' form before departure.
Foreign travellers are required to provide an accommodation booking confirmation or proof of property ownership. Vaccine - Travellers who can present a valid certificate, for full vaccination against COVID, are exempt from testing requirements. These exemptions apply from the date of full vaccination or from 14 days after a single-dose vaccine is administered. A copy of the vaccination certificate must be ed onto the 'Cyprus Flight Pass', which will be verified by border control officials in the country of departure.
Citizens who can present a valid certificate with at least one dose of the vaccine can also arrive without proof of testing - but must self-isolate for 72 hours after arrival. A PCR test will be administered at the end of this period. Self-isolation is required until a negative result is confirmed.
Self-isolation - No self-isolation needed on arrival from the UK, apart from those with one dose - see above. Tests - Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within 72 hours before departure, must be provided on arrival. The certificate must be ed on the 'Cyprus Flight Pass'.
Those who have recovered from Covid, within six months before travel, are exempt from testing requirements and may provide an EU Digital Certificate of recovery on arrival - must be ed onto the 'Cyprus Flight Pass'.
